The Walker Budget Is Already Working! Part CVII

So, after all the folderol of Scott Walker supposedly finding nearly 60,000 jobs out of his tuchus, we get the official numbers on how well Walker's budget is doing.  And it's doing just as we expected it would:

The Department of Workforce Development on Thursday released April's monthly job estimate, a report that continued the recent trend of showing lowering unemployment at the same time as it gives sagging job numbers. 

The monthly estimate shows the unemployment level dropping from 6.8 percent in March to 6.7 percent in April. But it also shows that Wisconsin lost 5,900 jobs between March and April, and 21,400 since April 2011. The state has added 12,200 jobs this year, the report said.

For those of you that are keeping score at home, that comes to a total of 29,000 lost jobs since Walker was elected.  The number of jobs lost more than double if you take away the jobs gained in the first half of 2011, when former Governor Jim Doyle's budget was still in place.

It's also now eight of the last ten months that Wisconsin has been on the losing side when it comes to jobs.
