Onward Christian Terrorists, Part II

What pillars of the community they are!:
Nine alleged members of a Christian militia group that was girding for battle with the Antichrist were charged Monday with plotting to kill a police officer and slaughter scores more by bombing the funeral — all in hopes of touching off an uprising against the U.S. government.

Seven men and one woman believed to be part of the Michigan-based Hutaree were arrested over the weekend in raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The ninth suspect was arrested Monday night after search in rural southern Michigan.

FBI agents moved quickly against the group because its members were planning an attack sometime in April, prosecutors said. Authorities seized guns in the raids but would not say whether they found any explosives.

I can think of a few locals that might be part of a sister cell.

  1. People will use any belief system to advance their cause. I don't know the specifics of what happened in Michigan, but it is wrong to give Christianity a bad name just because of people like this. I will agree that people use religion to do some pretty awful things. However, real Christianity involves faith in the one and true living God, and that is Jesus Christ. It means hating any kind of sin, but loving the sinner. It means redemption, not condemnation. It means love, not hate.

Liberal AND conservative groups, right? Don't fall into the trap by trumpeting one group and downplaying another group. That is EXACTLY what leads to legitimate claims of leftist hypocrisy.

You have come the closest to figuring out the point that I am trying to make.

Categorizing a whole type of person based on the actions of a few is irresponsible.

The right and left do it to each other all the time, unfortunately.

But "American Christians" are quick to blame the entire Muslim Nation for a few bad actors when the vast majority aren't that way.

Too many people don't have the insight and/or the courage to take close, hard looks at themselves. It is so much easier to feed into bigotry.
