Four Pointers On Pakistan

POINT:

Senator Barack Obama says he would go into Pakistan, if need be, to get bin Laden.

COUNTERPOINT:

McCain criticizes Obama for wanting to go into Pakistan, a supposed ally.

POINT OF ATTACK:

U.S sends drone fighters into Pakistan, attacking suspected al Qaeda and Taliban militant stronghold.

WHAT'S THE POINT?

Palin attacks Obama for wanting to go into Pakistan, just after she agrees we should go into Pakistan.

  1. And now we have done just this very thing by going into Syria.

  2. I know that subtleties are a challenge for you...

    McCain criticized Obama's "tell."

He did NOT criticize the action, per se.

Palin did exactly what she SHOULD have done--which is, Do Not "tell" your hand.

  3. Yes, that is the genius of the McCain-Palin Campaign, when asked a question about how they would handle a certain situation, they do not "tell" what they would do.

So they can critisize Obama for answering a question about a potential future situation truthfully. Then when the Bush administration does exactly as Obama said he would should, they can fall back on saying that Obama was spot on exactily 100% in his policy decision, but wrong in "telling" what he would do.

Unfortunately, that subtlety is only actually pertinent if Obama was in the actual situation and then exposed his hand by "telling" what he would do before he did it.

As it is, poor McCain and Palin are left to argue that, well, OK, Obama was 100% correct in his policy decision, but his REALLY REALLY BIG mistake was answering the question truthfully.
